Madrigals

Madrigals were the pop songs of the Renaissance and early Baroque eras, and ranged from melancholy to fun, from rude to sublime (and sometimes all four). Though their popularity waxed and waned over the centuries, they enjoy great popularity today, and are sung by groups large and small across the globe.

We are a group of about 16 singers who sing a wide range of madrigals for pure enjoyment. We meet on the first and third Thursdays of each month, and would welcome anyone interested in singing with us. You’ll need to have a basic competence in reading music, and you’ll be supported in your singing by other members of your voice and by our leader, Francis Hayes. Get in touch with him to find out more.
