About Membership

Reading u3a offers its members a wide range of activities and special interest groups as well as open meetings and members' meetings. Why not come along to one of our open meetings to see what we do and what we have to offer? We publish a newsletter every other month for members and members also recieve the national publication "Third Age Matters".

Membership is open to those who are retired, semi-retired or in the same 'Third Age' range.  We meet in a number of locations in and around Reading. There are conditions of membership based on mutual respect for others.

Membership offers the opportunity for lifelong learning with a comprehensive range of interest groups, social and physical activities to keep healthy in mind and body.

Annual Membership runs from the AGM held in September of each year until the AGM the following year.  Annual membership costs £35.00 per year if you receive our Newsletter by post or £30.00 per year if you opt to receive the Newsletter by email.  There is a reduced membership subscription if you join after 1st March in a membership year.  As a member, you may register on this website for access to the Members' area of the website.  Reading U3A Newsletters, giving details of all our meetings and the meetings of special interest groups, are published every two months and, in addition, members receive by post the National u3a Magazine "Third Age Matters" and a learning resources magazine "u3a Sources".
